eHouse Hybrid Building Automation, IoT

Smart House | eHouse building automation can work in hybrid version integrating all variants of eHouse.

  • RS-485 – based on RoomManagers’ for mini switchboard installations (wired)
  • CAN – (Controller Area Network) to electrical socket cans (wired)
  • RF – (Radio Frequency 863, 902/915MHz) to electrical outlets (wireless)
  • PRO – for central switchboard installations (based on local I/O modules for eHouse PRO server)
  • LAN/Ethernet based on EthernetRoomManagers’ for mini switchboard installation (wired)
  • WiFi – OEM/DIY to electrical outlets (wireless WLAN b/g/n)
  • GSM/SMS 2G/3G/LTE-M1/NB-IoT – Smart City devices (GSM operators based IoT)
  • LoraWAN – Smart City devices (wireless future product) – in the future

The hybrid version is working under the supervision of eHouse.PRO software for Linux microcomputers (eg. Raspberry PI, Banana PI/PRO, Orange PI, x64/x86) with communication interface for all versions.

This enables optimum use of all architectures in synergy:

  • minimizing costs
  • reducing the amount of wiring in the building, outside and in places where we want to avoid them
  • separation of controllers from each other in areas where there is a risk of puncture voltage
  • realize smart city, IoT, smart lighting, smart measurement applications with RF/WiFi/GSM controllers

For example, in large building installations:

  • use eHouse.PRO system as an alarm with SMS notification, blinds, rollers, drives installed centrally
  • use the Ethernet (LAN) Mini-Switchboard for each room to total control rooms by integrating infrared, programs, lighting, heating, etc.
  • use eHouse RF controllers for the implementation of external sensors, measurement, wireless bells, switches, etc.
  • use eHouse RF (radio) outside, in places where wired versions are unprofitable or where there is no possibility of the position of cables
  • use eHouse RF (radio controllers) as Plan B after finishing the house forgot something

For example, in IoT, smart city/vilage installations:

  • use eHouse.PRO server as main host with GSM Module (SMS/2G/3G/LTE system as main unit for cost optimization)
  • use eHouse WiFi controllers for the low range implementation of smart lighting, smart sensors, measurement, wireless bells, switches, etc.
  • use eHouse RF controllers for middle range implementation of smart lighting, smart sensors, measurement, wireless bells, switches, etc.
  • use eHouse LoraWAN for long range of unurbanized places – no additional costs
  • use eHouse GSM Based modules for long range – with GSM operators subscription cost

The overall eHouse Hybrid system depends on communication interfaces connected to server and controllers itself. Unless long range is required (more than 100m from base station/router) the best variants are eHouse LAN(Ethernet) and WiFi because they don’t need dedicated interfaces to eHouse system (work natively in LAN/WLAN local computer network).
The use of the PC as a host of software is applicable in case we need much more computing power than Linux 32-bit microcomputers (1, 2 or 4 core).
